Frequentely Asked Questions:

When I place an order I only get the option of picking up in the store, Why?
In the ship to address you need to put your school address. All addresses outside of Georgia will get you the 'Pick up at store' option only.

I have two coupons, can I use them both? Yes. When you are ready to check out, enter the coupons one at a time and the prices will be adjusted.

Why are there two different delivery fees for UGA and Emory students?
If you are just having a futon delivered to your room, the fee is only $25. If you are having a loft bed delivered the fee is $40, and that includes any additional items you may have purchased, including a futon. There is an additional $15 fee for the assembly of a loft bed.

I'm going to UGA, why should I pre-order my loft bed and/or futon?
Pre-ordering guarentees you a loft bed and/or futon, plus you get to schedule a delivery & assembly date and time that works best for you. Students going through Rush have very little flexability with their time and usually need to get all moved in by mid-afternoon on their move-in day. The move-in date for students going through rush is our busiest day and usually gets booked by the last week in July.

For UGA, do I need to know my room number before I order?
No, you may call or email that information in late July when you recieve your room assignment. We also understand that Residence Hall assignments may change, just let us know so we can make your delivery to the correct place.

For UGA students, please use your school address as the ship to address. It should look as follows:
Your Name
University of Georgia
Room # (if known), Hall Name
Athens, GA 30609
Phone number we can reach you on delivery day. If you have more than one (which can be very helpful) please include them in the comments section with a name of whose # it is.

FUTON QUESTIONS

Will the L-frame fit under a loft bed?
The L-frame will fit under all our loft beds and the loft beds Provided by UGA Housing (Yes, Even in Creswell).

Can I upgrade to an 8" mattress on the Tri-Fold futon frames?
Yes, but because the futon mattress is so thick, it doesn't easily fold into the loveseat position.

Why should I buy a futon cover?
The futon is a white canvas color. We recommend you buy a futon cover for three reasons: 1.) A futon cover is specially fitted to stay on the mattress, 2.) A cover helps protect the mattress from dirt and can be taken off and machine washed, 3.) Covers come in a variety of colors to coordinate your room.

Can I use a fitted sheet instead of a futon cover?
A fitted sheet is OK if the futon is only used as a bed. But, when the futon is raised up to a sitting position, a sheet usually pulls off the corners. A futon cover surrounds the mattress, eliminating this problem.

Do I have to pay an assembly fee for a futon?
No. Our futon frames are already preassembled and ready to setup. Plus, if you want us to deliver your futon we will also set it up, put the cover over your mattress and show you the different positions as part of the $25 delivery fee.

Are there any advantages to ordering my futon when I order my loft bed?
Yes, the advantages are: 1.)
If you want us to deliver your loft bed, we can also deliver the futon at the same time as part of the $40 delivery fee. But, if you wait to order your futon and have us deliver it at a different time than the loft bed, then you will pay another delivery fee. 2.) Our futons are limited in supply, just as our futon covers are, so the sooner you order the more likely we will have the selection you want.

LOFT BED QUESTIONS

Do I rent or buy the Loft Bed?
All our products are for purchase only.

What UGA residence halls allow loft beds and which ones do not?
UGA permits Loft Beds in Morris, Oglethorpe, Payne, Reed (except the 4th floor),  & Rutherford Halls. UGA Housing provides adjustable beds that students are able to loft in Brumby, Creswell, Russell, Boggs, Church, Mell, Lipscomb, & Hill Halls. Loft Beds are not permitted in Myers, Soule, East Campus Village, and the 4th floor of Reed Hall.

I have been assigned Brumby, Creswell, Russell, Boggs, Church, Mell, Lipscomb, or Hill Hall and I would like to loft my bed, what does it mean that the school provides loft beds for those Halls?
Your school issued bed is an adjustable height bed. When you first arrive in your assigned room, your bed will look like a four post bed. You will be able to adjust the mattress height in increments. These beds may not be removed from the room or damaged by nails or screws.

At UGA or Emory, what do I do with the school issued bed if we order a Loft?
The mattress and springs are incorporated into the Loft bed, leaving only the headboard and footboards to store. Some parents take these parts home to store over the school year or they can be stored in the room. Make sure to sign out your headboard and footboard with housing if you will not be storing them in the room.

My roommate and I are both going to buy a loft bed from your company and we want to take advantage of a coupon we have. Do we need to place our order together? No. When you place your order just let us know who your rooomate is in the comments section. Make sure you both use the coupon code when checking out so you will both get your discount. When choosing your shipping method choose 'UGA/Emory Splitting Delivery w/ Roommate $20'. Note: If your roommate fails to order and you used your coupon and $20 delivery, we will notify you and we will need to collect the discounted amount before you receive your order.

The legs seem to be splitting, is that normal?
Yes. Those are called check cracks and mainly happen in 4"x4" lumber. These check cracks do not affect the stability of the loft bed.

What do I do with my Loft Bed at the end of the year?
At move out, the student is responsible for returning the room to it original condition. So, Lofts must be removed and the beds that came in the room put back up. Since, our Loft Beds are made as a kit, they can easily be taken down and stored. If you do not need the Loft Bed anymore, we offer a free removal service at the end of each semester for UGA & Emory students. Just call us for an appointment.

At UGA or Emory, If I come pick up my Loft Bed, will you come assemble it?
Yes, just call us to setup an appointment.

What is included in a Loft Bed kit?
Five pieces: pre-assembled head board and foot board, 2" x 6" rails (one rail has the guard rail already attached and mounts away from the wall), bundle of 2"x4" spring supports and braces, and hardware bag with illustrated assembly instructions.

I'm not going to UGA or Emory. Do I need box springs?
Our loft bed comes with 2 mattress supports. You will need a solid surface to place your mattress on. Box Springs will work, but due to the thickness, they may render the guardrail useless and put you too close to the ceiling. We recommend using a 3/4" plywood platform cut to 37" x 80".

What tools will I need to put together a Loft Bed?
Two people, a hammer, 9/16 wrench, ratchet with 9/16 and 7/16 sockets (a cordless drill helps tremedously) It takes the average consumer about 30 minutes to put up our Loft Bed.

DELIVERY QUESTIONS

How do you schedule your deliveries?
For Brumby, Creswell, and Russell Halls, we schedule deliveries in 1 1/2 hour time slots. For all other resident halls, deliveries are scheduled in two hour time slots. It generally takes about forty five minutes to perform a delivery and assembly.

Should we put the carpet down before we put up the Loft Bed and/or Futon?
Yes. Ideally, the carpet goes in first, the loft bed second and everything else after. This prevents "stuff" from being in the way or getting damaged. But, things don't always go according to plan, so we are here to work with you.
